In partnership with parents and community, the mission of the NCSD is to ensure that all students develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to achieve their highest potential and to be productive members of an ever changing global society.
The Novi Public Library and the Novi Community School District have teamed up to create the "Students for Success - A School District Reading Together" program. The library and the school district have found a book that we are encouraging all Novi school district residents to read. Then on April 28th the author will visit Novi to discuss the book with our school district community.
The book "Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain" written by Dr. John Ratey, a Harvard University faculty member, is a groundbreaking exploration of the connection between exercise and the brain's performance that shows how even moderate exercise will supercharge mental circuits to beat stress, sharpen thinking, enhance memory, and much more. The book will change the way you think about your morning run or for that matter, simply the way you think.
"Spark" is available at the Novi Public Library. Each of our Novi schools also has several copies. Read the book then meet with the author on April 28th, 7:00 PM, Novi Middle School.
