IMPORTANT – TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
NOVI HIGH SCHOOL
Board of Education-approved budget reductions include enforcement of the 1 ½ mile walk zone for high school students.  As a result, there will no longer be bus service in the following areas (see High School Walk Zone map):
• Cedar Springs Subdivision
• South of Ten Mile between Beck Road and Taft Road
  o Excluding:  White Pines Drive, Whitehall Dr. and Argyle Dr. from 23629 Argyle Dr. and south.
• Ten Mile, north to Cider Mill, between Beck Road and Taft Road
The remainder of the previous high school walk zone will still be in effect. 
 
VILLAGE OAKS AND NOVI WOODS – HALF-DAY KINDERGARTEN
Board of Education-approved budget reductions provide that bus service will no longer be provided for half-day a.m. kindergarten students at noon to return home.
 
PARKVIEW
Construction of a new sidewalk connecting the Eleven Mile walking path to the front entrance of Parkview has been completed and will provide a safe walking route to the school.  Therefore, .there will no longer be bus service for Parkview students in subdivisions south of Eleven Mile Road, from Abbey Hills Subdivision east to Parkview (see Parkview Walk Zone map).

Register to Ride the Bus

TRANSPORTATION REQUEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

If you live outside the walk zone and your child will require bus transportation to high school you will need to register. Please email transportation@novi.k12.mi.us with your child’s name, address and grade. Please register your child by August 10, 2009. Bus information will be handed out at registration.

Please be sure to instruct your child if they don’t see their regular bus at the end of the day to ask an adult.  There are times the driver will be using a sub bus.  If this is the case, the bus number will be in the front window.

Novi Community School District employs 31 full time and 6 substitute bus drivers. Currently we are operating 39 buses. The transportation department is staffed by the Director of Transportation, Dan Tooman, and Cindy Valentine, Secretary.

 

  
STUDENTS TO RIDE ASSIGNED BUSES
Students will not be permitted to ride another student’s bus, and students will not be allowed to get off at another student’s stop.
