Novi Community Schools provides a standards-based English as a Second Language (ESL) program for students who come from homes where a language other than English is spoken.
Each student is evaluated on his/her English language proficiency. In addition, academic performance is considered to determine eligibility. The services for English learners (EL) include ESL classes at all levels, targeted literacy programs at the elementary levels and academic content ESL classes at the upper levels.
