We are pleased to inform you that some positive changes are being made to the Six Period Day for the 2011-2012 school year. After careful observation, collaboration, discussion and committee work we are incorporating Super Wednesday which will include Academic Advisory once a week following 3rd period. Academic Advisory will provide time built into the school day for academic support and enrichment. Also on Wednesday only, we will not run 7th period classes and extra-curricular activities will not begin until 3:10 p.m. to allow for staff professional development opportunities. Students who remain after school for scheduled activities will report to the atrium, a designated study area.

In order to make adjustments to the daily schedule, it was necessary to add six minutes of additional travel time onto the school day. School will begin at 7:15 a.m. and conclude at 2:01 p.m. with the exception of our limited classes running during 7th period. The additional six minutes will slightly impact the bus schedule during the afternoon runs only, by consolidating afternoon stops. An updated transportation schedule will be available on the website on August 23, 2011.

We are excited about the new opportunities Super Wednesday will bring to our students and staff. We are confident that the adjustments will enhance the teaching and learning opportunities at Novi High School and serve our Wildcats well.
