• TAFT STAFF LOT - Attention Students: Parents are not to drop off students in the Staff Taft Lot. Please remind your parents that the Taft Staff lot IS NOT a parking lot for student drop off or pick up. This is causing very hazardous conditions for buses, staff and students. So please be courteous of this policy!

PSAT/SAT SCORES - In order to access your PSAT/SAT scores, you must create a College Board account at www.collegeboard.org. If you have forgotten your login information, please contact College Board directly.  If your score does not automatically show up, please follow the instructions on the page to manage your profile and input your address. This should populate your test scores.  

DRESS CODE & PERSONAL GROOMING - The Board of Education believes that students must wear appropriate attire in order to maintain an appropriate learning environment for education and that student behavior is influenced by their attitude and dress. Each school has certain rules for dress that must be adhered to. Students that dress inappropriately will be sent home to change. Dress that reflects in a derogatory manner upon the race, religion, sex, or national origin of members of the student body will not be permitted. 

Whenever student attire is disruptive to a classroom activity, interferes with testing integrity or creates a safety hazard, the student will be required to change before continuing with classes. School is a place of business and requires businesslike clothing. This means that bare midriff, bare shoulders, short skirts or shorts, “soffe” shorts, sheer/see-through materials, halter-tops, spaghetti strap tops, side-cutout shirts, hoods, undershirts and visible undergarments are not permissible. Also, not appropriate are any items of clothing that advertise or condone the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, violence, or any unauthorized organization deemed to be in conflict with school policies and practices. 

In regards to skirts, dresses, and/or shorts, we are requiring that students cover 30% of their leg length. Leg length is determined by measuring from the top of the leg to the floor in bare feet. The skirt hem is measured from the floor in bare feet as well. Specific guidelines are available from the grade level administrator upon request. 

In regards to waistlines (for both males and females), the top of the waistline is to be worn above the hips. 

Students who do not comply with the dress code will be asked to put on more appropriate clothing, and if none is available, may be asked to go home to get suitable attire.

WATER WARS - Water Wars is NOT school sanctioned.  Any devices used to splash water on students is prohibited on school grounds.  Any student involved in a water incident on school grounds will be subject to disciplinary actions. We realize that students think this game is fun, yet we are genuinely concerned about the safety and security of our students and the unintended negative message this game can send to the Novi Community.

NOVI EQUESTRIAN TEAM - “If you are interested in joining next Falls Novi Equestrian Team there will be an informational meeting on May 30th at 6pm in Room #132 of Novi High School.  All riders in 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grade for the 2018/2019 school year are welcome, whether you ride Hunter Jumper, Western, Saddle Seat or anything in between.”

DANCE COMPANY AUDITIONS FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR - Monday May 21st 2018: 6pm-6:45pm · Information Meeting for Parents/Students interested in auditioning to learn more about the company. Wednesday May 30th 2018: 3:15pm- 4:15pm · Information Meeting: 3:15pm-3:30pm · Contemporary Combination: 3:30pm - 4:15pm Thursday May 31st 2018: 3:15pm- 4:15pm · Leaps & Turns Combination · Review Friday June 1st 2018, 3:15pm- 5:15pm · Audition both combinations for panel of judges ·

NOTE: You must stay the entire time in case the judges would like to see specific students/groups perform again! WHERE: NHS Dance Room, 152 WHO SHOULD ATTEND: · Male and female students that will be in 9th –12th grades for the 2018-2019 school year. · Experienced dancers who are interested in advancing their training. · Students who are passionate about dance. · Students who value hard work and teamwork. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: · Advanced Dance Company: Dance 4 Class (Semester 1&2) plus one day a week after school commitment and additional events/competitions. · Intermediate Dance Company: Dance 3 Class (Semester 1&2) plus one day per week after school and additional events/competitions. · There is a financial commitment to NDC. Estimated costs will be discussed at the first day of auditions. · Dance Company focuses on advanced contemporary/modern; ballet and jazz dance styles. · The selection of dancers is based on skill, knowledge, presence, and etiquette in dance. · Students should wear form-fitting (dance) clothes for the audition. No shoes for contemporary, dance shoes may be used for leaps & turns combination.

  •    June 4: Class of 2019 parent/student college planning meeting at 6pm NHS auditorium.
  •    June 6: Optional college planning meeting for Class of 2019 during AA

NDC SUMMER DATE FOR ADVANCED COMPANY
Contemporary Choreography with Katy Dinkelmann: July 25th & 26th, 9am-2pm Intermediate & Advanced Company: · Intensive (Technique & Choreography): Monday August 13th –Friday August 17th , 10am-3pm, (Technique together, separate dances)

· Hip Hop Choreography: Week of August 20th , 2 days (4 hours each),both companies together, exact dates/times TBD
