Novi Community School District administration will continue to have conversations with the Board of Education related to the pandemic and fall options, and will communicate plans as they change dring the 2021-2022 school year.

As we have learned over the past two years, we need to remain patient and flexible as guidance and mandates can create unanticipated change.

"I anticipate that this fall, school will look and feel much more normal," said Superintendent Steve Matthews. "However, we will continue to exercise caution as appropriate to ensure the safety of our students and staff."

Any updates to our school safety protocols will be emailed to parents and shared on our various communication channels, including the District website.

On Aug. 24, 2021, Oakland County Health Division created an emergency order requiring masks for all daycares and schools. Read the Oakland County Health Division Emergency Order.

The beginning of the 2021-2022 school year on September 7, 2021, will look different than the first day of school on September 8, 2020. In September 2020, NCSD started with two options – hybrid for in-person learning and virtual. In September 2020, the in-person option was a hybrid consisting of both in-person and at-home days.

For September 2021, NCSD will again begin the year with two options. We will continue the virtual option for families who opted in during our spring enrollment. Our in-person option will be a return to five-day per week in-person. We have about 350 K-12 students registered for our virtual school, while the rest of our students will be in-person.
