Novi Mental Health Alliance

The mission of this group is to raise mental health awareness, well-being, and self-efficacy in the Novi Community School District’s (NCSD) K-12 system for students, with the support of parents, staff, and community members.

This group was formed in March 2018 by parents, NCSD administrators, and community members who saw a need to have open dialogue regarding student mental health and wellness.  Since that time the group has grown into an active organization whose overarching goal is to address issues affecting mental health and wellness.  These issues include academic and social pressures that students face, relational aggression, communication between parents and children, adverse childhood experiences, and anxiety.

Working monthly meetings, as well as quarterly educational evening events where experts in the social, emotional, and learning (SEL) field present, are held throughout the school year and summer months.  It is hoped that through offering these community resources that coping strategies can be gained to help build healthier families, classrooms, and communities.

You can register to attend meetings on the Novi Public Library Website

Each Community Conversation will consist of a 30-minute presentation on a key topic, followed by a 30-minute Q&A and authentic dialogue among participants. The location of each Community Conversation is the Novi Public Library.
