For Novi Students
By October 11, 2019 all AP students wishing to take AP exams must click “register” in AP Classroom at https://myap.collegeboard.org/login for each of their AP classes. Their teacher will have provided them with their class join codes in order to do so.
Additionally, from October 4-18, 2019 all AP students wishing to take AP exams must register with Novi High School. This registration link below will become active on October 4. Students may only register ONCE, so prior to submitting the registration form they need to be sure that they have already registered through their AP Classroom (referenced above).
Students must register from their Novi student email account, outside accounts will not work.
After completing online registration, students can pay by cash or check. Checks should be made out to Novi High School and the student's first and last name should appear in the memo. When students bring their checks to Mrs. Brown, she will confirm their registration. Mrs. Brown will be available from 9:30 am until 2:30pm in the Student Services Office.
Traditional course exams cost $94, Capstone courses cost $142.
Please be patient with the registration process. This is the first year of electronic registration combined with College Board’s new processes. If you have any questions, please contact Alaina.Brown@NoviK12.org.
Please review the "AP and IB Testing Calendar 2019-2020." Use it to anticipate potential testing conflicts and determine if late testing will be necessary. Below is College Board’s list of potential reasons for late testing that do not incur an additional fee:
- Academic contest/event
- Athletic contest/event
- Conflict with IB or Cambridge exam
- Conflict with nationally, province-, or state-mandated test
- Disabilities accommodation issue
- Emergency: bomb scare or fire alarm
- Emergency: serious injury, illness, or family tragedy
- High school graduation
- Language lab scheduling conflict
- Religious holiday/observance
- School closing: election, national holiday, or natural disaster
- Strike/labor conflict
- Student court appearance
- Two AP Exams on the same date at the same time
If your reason for late testing does not fall within these reasons please meet with Mrs. Brown and to determine if your reason meets College Board’s guidelines for late testing with an additional $40 fee.
If you have questions about the AP program in general and/or testing procedures, please consult College Board‘s “Taking AP Exams”
NEW DISTRICT POLICY
Novi High School has decided not to allow students to self-study for AP Exams beginning this fall for several reasons. The most important reason is our concern for students' mental wellness. The practical reason is knowledge that AP exams alone do not improve student's acceptance to universities.
World Languages are the only exception.
If you have financial need, but do not qualify for free and reduced lunch, please fill out this AP Scholarship Application

Out of district students
Due to changes with College Board’s registration process Novi will not be open to out of district students. Please contact College Board for other schools that may be able to assist you.
