ParentSquare Communications

Deerfield Elementary begins piloting ParentSquare for school communications in February 2026.

ParentSquare will be the primary communication tool for email, text and app notifications for Deerfield Elementary.

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. If you don't download the mobile app, you will still receive communications via email.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
Receive the daily digest of all school-related communications at 6 p.m. (the default setting) or change your setting to receive information as it comes (Note: the daily digest will minimize the number of emails you receive)
Communicate in your preferred language
Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
Direct message teachers and staff
Participate in group messages
Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
In the future, send payments, sign forms/permission slips, sign up to volunteer for PTO or school-related activities, and more, all from your desktop or mobile device

This guide will help you activate your account, find helpful resources, and download the free ParentSquare app so you can start receiving updates from your school.

How to stay connected

Activate your account and login.
Make sure the school has your correct email and mobile phone number
Set your notification preferences in ParentSquare

Activate your ParentSquare account

Your school will send you an invitation using your email address or phone number on file.

Open the invitation from ParentSquare in your email or text messages.
Click Activate your account or tap the link to go to the account registration page.
Enter your email or phone number, then click Get Started. (Optional: You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft.)
Check your contact information. If it looks correct, click Confirm. You’ll receive a code by text or email.
Enter the verification code when asked.
You’ll see your children’s names. Click Confirm next to each child who should be connected to your account. If a child is listed by mistake, click Not my child.
If everything looks correct, click Yes, this is me.

Now you’re ready to start using ParentSquare!

Choose your notification preferences in the app

From home, tap the hamburger menu icon (three lines) in the top left. Tap "Account" and then "Notifications."
Toggle on or off for Email Notifications, Text Notifications and App Notifications
Select "Instant" or "Digest" for each mode.

Need help with your account?

Contact your school if:
● A name is spelled wrong
● Your email address or phone number is incorrect
● A child is missing from your account

Access helpful resources

When you’re logged in, you can access resources to help you with using ParentSquare.

On a computer, click the question mark (?) in the top menu.

In the app, tap the Help icon in the app.

You’ll see these options:

Contact School - Send a question to your school or find contact details.
Help Articles - Search for answers or step-by-step guides.
