Parkview Fun Run!
We need your support!!!
The Fun Run is an opportunity for the PTO to generate funds used throughout the school year on activities that enhance the learning environment. Details on these activities can be found on the PTO web site.
We have partnered with local Novi business, ONE Training, to help us incorporate the “7 Habits of Wellness” into our Fun Run event. Details of the program will be distributed separately and discussed in the classroom over the weeks leading up to our event.
Fun Run Event: Wednesday, October 7. Kindergarten and Grade 1 classes run 1:00 – 1:45 PM; Grades 2 – 4 run 2:40 – 3:40 PM. Plan to come and support your child in their achievement! We will hold our run in the soccer field next to Parkview.
How to pledge: We are asking each student to try and raise $50. A check or credit card is preferred over cash donations. Please use the attached envelope and return it to school with your child. Checks should be made payable to NOVI COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT. Make sure the envelope is marked FUN RUN along with your child’s name and teacher name. For credit charges, we are using a third party site called www.99pledges.com/fund/2015parkview. A direct link can found on the PTO web site at www.novi.k12.mi.us/pv/pvpto/fun-run. This same link can be forwarded and used by family and friends to make donations via Facebook, Twitter, or email. Remember, these donations are tax-deductible.
Why are we using a third party site for credit charges? www.99pledges.com/fund/2015parkview is a fully secure site and we feel that we can realize more financial benefit by using this method than other third party sites.
How will I know if family or friends make donations for my child via www.99pledges.com/fund/2015parkview? You can check the 99pledges web site to see additional contributions made to your child’s account.
How much does the PTO spend per student? We spend over $55 per child and with almost 600 children this year, we will need even more funds to keep the same level of activities.
How is this money used? The funds generated from the Fun Run are used to provide educational, family and other enhancement activities that cannot be provided by the school district. These activities include assemblies, classroom enrichment, field trips, science fair, movie night, as well as books and various subscriptions for the Media Center which impacts each and every child!
Where does the money come from? 100% of the money the PTO uses comes from donations and fundraising events. The Fun Run kicks off the year and helps us to ensure we can continue to bring quality programs to our children throughout the year.
Every child will receive a Parkview jump rope just for participating in our school-wide event!
Students that raise $200 will receive a frozen yogurt party!
Students that raise $500 will be principal for part of the day with Mrs. Michos!
For each class that reaches its pledge goal, the entire classroom will receive 30 minutes extra recess time plus an in-class movie!
The top pledging class for each grade will receive a pizza party!
We will have a celebration assembly to highlight the success of reaching our school goal of $20,000!
We will announce individual and classroom winners!
If we reach our $20,000 goal, we will further celebrate by having Mrs. Michos KISS A REAL PIG!!
