WELCOME TO THE NOVI COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT!

The Novi Community School District is a closed district, which means that we are not a School of Choice district. All students, with the exception of employee’s students, attending our schools must reside within the Novi School Community District boundaries. These boundaries are not the same as the City of Novi boundaries.

NCSD provides a K-12 Virtual option that can be valuable for students who will have extended travel, health needs, or elite level extracurricular activities. Students who are new to NCSD and would like virtual course work, should make this request when they complete the enrollment process. When does kindergarten enrollment begin?

February 1st: Enrollment opens for Kindergarten Programs including Wildcat Launch for the 2025/26 school year

After I complete the online registration, will the Enrollment Office contact me?

No. Please see the enrollment process below. Once enrollment is completed a confirmation email will be sent. For any questions, please contact the Central Enrollment Department via email at enrollment@novik12.org.

What do you accept for proof of residency?

One of the following is required
- Mortgage documents
- Property Tax Statement
- Closing papers
- Purchase agreement
- Current rental agreement with tenants and occupants names
Two of the following are required
- Gas Bill
- Electric Bill
- Renters Insurance
- Bank Statement

What if I do not have all proof of residency?

We will not be able to complete your child's enrollment.

My child is not due to have his/her immunizations updated until the summer. Should I wait until then to enroll?

No, do not wait. Complete the online registration as soon as possible. Upload the immunization records you currently have.

My child has not had their vision and hearing screened yet. Should I wait to enroll?

No, don’t wait. Complete your online registration as soon as possible. It is Michigan law that every kindergartener has their vision and hearing screened before they can start school. You may turn that proof in at your child’s school before school starts.

What if I do not have the required documents?

You will need all of the required documents before we can enroll your child.

What if I can’t find my child’s original birth certificate?

You may still enroll your child without an original birth certificate. You have 30 days to provide us with a certified copy of your child's birth certificate or passport if your child was not born in the United States.

Has the age for kindergarten changed?

Yes, your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2025. Research indicates that developmentally, a child who is age 5 by September 1 has the best chance academically, socially and emotionally for a successful transition into a full-day kindergarten schedule.

Can I sign a Kindergarten Waiver if my child turns 5 after September 1, 2025?

Yes, if your child will be 5 years old between September 2, 2025 through December 1, 2025 you may enroll your child with a signed Waiver into our Kindergarten Program.

Where can I obtain a Kindergarten Waiver?

A waiver for our Kindergarten Program will be provided on the enrollment forms

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

This is for students that are new to the Novi Community School District, not to those that are currently enrolled.

We are accepting enrollment for K-12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year.

Open Enrollment Dates for the 2025/26 School Year:

February 1st: Enrollment opens for Kindergarten Programs including Wildcat Launch for the 2025/26 school year
April 1st: Enrollment opens for 1st - 12th Grade

Step One: Pre-Registration

Please note the following information is required to complete the Step One:

Student information:
- Student Name
- Home phone number
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Entering grade level
- Entering school year
Household Information:
- Street, city, state, zip code
- Any siblings currently attending NCSD schools.
Guardian Information
- Email address
- Contact Name
- Phone number

Once Step One is completed your student's enrollment will be reviewed. Once approved, you will receive an email from PowerSchool@novik12.org with further directions to create your Parent Portal Account, which you will need to complete Step Two of this process. Please do not email PowerSchool@novik12.org.

To begin the enrollment process, please complete the pre-registration form.

Step Two: Enrollment Forms and Supporting Documents

Once your Parent Portal Account is set up you are approved to move forward in the enrollment process.

You do not have to complete the enrollment in one sitting. It will automatically save your information as you complete requirements.

However, you must read and complete each section in their entirety in order to complete the process.

ALL SECTIONS MUST BE COMPLETED AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION ATTACHED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR ENROLLMENT IS NOT DELAYED.

The following documents must be uploaded to the portal:

birth certificate or passport (if born outside of the US)
immunization record
residency documents
parent driver’s license with current Novi address
guardianship paperwork (if applicable)
IEP or 504 (if applicable)
vision and hearing screening (kindergarten only)

All must be legible and if not in English, a certified translation must be provided at time of enrollment. We are unable to accept any faxed required documents due to the volume of paperwork.

ADDRESS CHANGE / RE-ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE

If you have moved within the District, you will need to update your residency by logging into your parent portal, click forms in the left hand column and complete the address change under general forms.

Lease or Property Transfer Affidavit
Two (2) current bills (including service conformation) showing your new Novi address
